DUBLIN, IRELAND, SEPTEMBER 10 2025 – Rubicon Capital Advisors (“Rubicon”) is pleased to announce its role as exclusive M&A buy-side financial advisor to Infranity, the infrastructure-focused asset management company founded by its partners under a strategic partnership with the Generali Group (“Infranity”), on a strategic equity investment into Power Capital Renewable Energy (“Power Capital”).
With this transaction, Infranity joins existing shareholder Omnes Capital (“Omnes”) to accelerate the deployment of Power Capital’s extensive 5GW solar PV and battery storage pipeline and reinforces the Company’s position as a leading, vertically integrated European IPP.
Power Capital is one of the largest solar IPPs in Ireland with 230MW of capacity in operation, a further 330 MW of capacity under construction and a pipeline consisting of over 5GW of solar PV and energy storage projects in development. The company operates across the entire life cycle of its power plants, developing, constructing and operating the assets and has to-date delivered close to 1GW of ready-to-build solar PV projects with secured offtake through power purchase agreements and government-backed subsidies.
The transaction is one of the largest investments into an Irish renewable energy company in recent years, providing growth capital to fast-track Power Capital’s solar generation ambitions. This comes as the nation strives to achieve national energy security and decarbonisation objectives of having 80% of all electricity consumed procured from indigenous renewable sources by 2030.
This transaction further highlights Rubicon’s track record in successfully advising developers, investors and owners in the broader sustainable infrastructure sectors across Europe, North America and Latin America. As part of its support for the energy transition, in just the last two years, Rubicon has raised capital for six different sponsors of renewable energy and smart mobility projects across the UK, Ireland, USA and Chile.
The transaction is subject to customary approvals and is expected to complete by the end of September.
Jaime Hector, Co-Head of Infranity’s Equity Strategy commented: "We are pleased to complete Infranity’s first investment in the Irish renewables sector by partnering with Power Capital, a leading company in the space, and its existing shareholder Omnes. This is a strategic step in broadening our engagement in a sustainable energy transition and we are confident that this partnership will accelerate the company’s expansion, including into battery storage, helping to build a balanced portfolio across technologies. This strategic investment perfectly matches our funds’ mandates and represents another milestone for our latest equity fund.”
Barry O’Flynn, Managing Director at Rubicon commented “This is another milestone transaction for the Irish renewable energy market in attracting long-term institutional capital to facilitate the transition to a fully decarbonised electricity market. Power Capital has experienced extraordinary growth in recent years, which will now be further supported by Infranity, a high calibre European infrastructure investor and asset management firm with over €12 billion AUM in Europe. This transaction further emphasises Rubicon’s continued focus on working closely with leading infrastructure investors, developers and asset owners to fund, develop and deliver critical and sustainable energy infrastructure across Europe, North America and Latin America.”
